Our school is based on Piaget’s philosophy that children learn through play. As you take a look around our school, you will see the classes are divided into centers. The center-based learning approach is designed to help children have control in their learning, while the teacher guides the activities. Our Curriculum is made up of monthly units and weekly themes. As you take a look around you will see weekly lesson plans posted in each classroom to show the activities the children will be doing. These lesson plans are divided into categories which align with the New Jersey State Department of Education’s Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards. All of the activities the teachers plan are directly related to these teaching and learning standards. Our goal for your child is to create a safe and nurturing learning environment where they are able to reach their potential in all areas of development. Not only do we focus on their cognitive abilities with Language, math and science centers, we also focus on their creativity as they play in the music, dramatic play, block and art centers. We also want to see their motor skills develop and we do so by providing a wide array of fine and gross motor activities. We also acknowledge that technology is the future and we provided computers for the older children to get acquainted and play with.
